should I spend 50 dollars on a sisal scratching post for my cat, does your cat like sisal?

i’m about to invest 50 bucks in the smartcat ultimate scratching post, before I do, does anyone have a cheaper brand suggestion of the same quality or should I just make the investment? Also, is sisal really safe for their nails, because it looks like that material would break their nails and do most cats like this material?

My cats wouldn’t even bother with that. I got them one that is completely on the ground and has a ball with a cardboard insert. They love it, and they play with the ball. It’s around $10 and you just get a refill cardboard part on occasion and your fine. I would never spend that much on a little post.
